He has received training from India's premier institutes for laparoscopy and Obstetric & Gynec Ultrasound. He has attended many workshops and also presented papers in various National and regional conferences.

Dr. Thakkar was also the President of Anand Obstetric and Gynecological Society (affiliated to FOGSI) He is the Core Fertility Specialist at Anand Fertility Center, Anand and has received further training for IVF, Advanced infertility and human reproductive Endocrinology at Bad Münder, Hamburg, Germany.
